Perugia August 20, 2021 – Vania Peverini is the new coach of the AC Perugia women’s team that is set to play in the upcoming Serie C championship. After flanking coach Luciano Mancini in the previous season in the cadet championship, Perugia’s historic coach, who led the Juniores team to the scudetto in 2019, now inherits the baton with great enthusiasm.

“My expectations,” reports Peverini, “are to see steady growth in the girls, to create a united group and good cohesion right from the start, to face each challenge with courage, with an open face and putting ourselves on the line in a very difficult round. I will try to create all those conditions such that we have a motivated and motivating team. In addition to cohesion, I will ask the girls for spirit of initiative and a great desire to put themselves on the line, both measuring themselves and the group.”

The coach then turned to an analysis of this year’s roster: “We have a group of very young and “unexplored” girls, where it is possible to touch on great skills and potential that we will try to cultivate to the best of our ability, asking the players only to trust in their work, which we know is the factor that pays off the most in the long run. The group is made up of girls who have already had experience in Serie A and Serie B, while others will only be making their debut in a high-level league this year, and it will be quite a challenge for everyone. What encourages me a lot is that we will make this journey together, starting from a good base established the previous year, to which we have added some very important quality grafts, which will complete a young but brilliant roster.”
