CONCEPT

A.C. Perugia Calcio inaugurated on Thursday, July 7, 2016, a new modern and functional headquarters for all the “biancorossi” fans and those who would like to get in touch with the “biancorossa” history.

The museum will be a space open not only to the city of Perugia but to Italy and the world. The goal is to create, for those who will come to visit us, an emotional and entertaining journey: a unique place where to retrace more than 110 years of history, passions, joys, sorrows, moments of aggregation and constant participation with the Club, in order to unite employees, players, fans, sports lovers, Perugia people and not. This is why the Perugia Calcio museum was born.

The club is planning its future, and the museum, along with the new headquarters, is the first tangible result of this desire for change and innovation. The most passionate fan, the sympathizer and in general anyone who visits the museum will be able to experience their passion for the red and white colors or simply spend their free time within these spaces.

THE MUSEUM.

Thanks to the mix of displaying rare historical memorabilia and telling the story through photos and captions, fans, in the 300 square meters of the museum, will relive the emotions of 111 years of glorious red and white history.

It is a broad path that involves passing through the most exalted moments of society, from its birth to the present day but not forgetting the less positive moments because as journalist and writer Indro Montanelli said, “a people who ignore their past will never know anything about their present.”

The experiential journey will be customizable and interactive, with the presence of a multimedia area designed to meet the needs of different target visitors, from children to adults.

THE AREAS.

The museum is located on the ground floor and consists of the following:
inner entrance court, a room dedicated to the North Curve and historical groups, a room dedicated to the projection of images and videos of the club’s history and lectures, and a room dedicated to the chronological account of the history of A.C. Perugia Calcio.

In the museum’s inner courtyard, the side walls will be covered with the skyline of Perugia’s main monuments, reimagined in a red-and-white key.

A large wall will be colored by the mural that is the subject of the competition held by the society and titled “A WALL FOR HISTORY.”

Entering the first doorway of the museum opens up the area entirely dedicated to the North Curva, the beating heart of the club.

The room will recount the historical development of the stadium’s warmest and largest sector and the historic groups that have marked and still mark its life.

A monitor in the room will allow people to view key images of the Curve’s history.

With the screening room, the fan will have the opportunity to retrace Perugia’s memorable challenges, specials and in-depth columns on the history and personalities of the club.

One niche, located in the side wall, will illuminate the jersey of the unforgettable legend Renato Curi while another wall will be dedicated to a small library consisting of newspapers, inserts and books that have told the stories of Perugia.

In addition, it could not miss a corner to the cartoons of artist Marcello Pitorri.

The room allows visitors to immerse themselves in the story of the society’s history from its origins to modern times. The side walls will offer a historical summary of the most significant moments, with unpublished photographs of the personalities, events and teams of the relevant historical period.

The most prestigious historical memorabilia will make up the room, and various displays will frame other images and curiosities from the many moments in the club’s life. A space will be dedicated to the trophies won by Perugia in national and international competitions. Five different historical sections have been identified in chronological order, with various focuses and insights:

  • From its origins to World War II
  • From the postwar period to the memorable 1966/67 season
  • The 1970s, 80s and 90s, from the “Perugia of Miracles” to the end of the D’Attoma presidency
  • The Gaucci era
  • Modern times up to the Pharaohs era
