Season ends for the Grifoncelle. Defeat at home against Orobica.

Perugia, May 23, 2021 – Nothing to do for theAC Perugia Calcio Femminile girls, who on the last day of the Serie B national championship, collapsed at home against Orobica Calcio Bergamo 0-5. The deciding factors were a double in the first half by De Vecchis, who immediately opened the scoring in the 3rd minute and then in the 16th minute from the penalty spot extended the distance. In the second half it was again the Bergamasque women who made their presence felt, netting in the 58th minute with Poeta, in the 75th minute with Kalasic and in the 80th minute with Foti. The home defeat ends a very difficult season that also highlighted, however, the value of many very young athletes, as coach Luciano Mancini reported at the end of the match:

“We would have liked to end this season differently, but we have no regrets; we gave space to many young girls in a season that was special in many ways. Outside of the result, being in such a high-level league, I think it was an important experience for the players.”

The end of the championship was also a reason for the technician to draw conclusions about his journey in the red and white: “At the end of the competition I spoke with the girls to thank them. Along with them, I obviously thank the club and all the staff who supported me; there would be many people to name, but a special thanks goes to the director in charge Valentina Roscini. Beyond the rankings, these have been very enriching months for me. I have seen in a championship of the highest level, faced moreover with the serious problem of covid, a great process of growth in the girls, and I think this is the most comforting note.” .
