It ended with a score of 3 to 1, in favor of the hosts, Pontedera CF – AC Perugia, a return match for the preliminary round of the Italian Cup. Biancorosse dominated throughout the first half, going ahead with a goal on a free kick by Susanna Federiconi in the 21st minute.

Also good in the second half, where two important saves by Elena Urso, in great form, kept the result safe.

Ten minutes from the end of regulation time the situation was reversed, with a penalty awarded to Pontedera, which scored with Del Prete. In the 90th minute Iannella, again on a penalty, put the hosts ahead. The match ended 3 to 1 for the granatine, who managed in the dying minutes to bring home one last goal.

“A heavy result, which does not reflect the competition,” commented coach Luciano Mancini.
