Perugia, March 14, 2021 – The recovery of the 15th day of the women’s Serie B championship ended with a result of 2-0 in favor of Brescia.

The decider was Magri’s double, who immediately unlocked the game in the 5th minute with a goal on the development of a corner kick. Regret for Perugia that had also found in the first minutes of the match good chances with two shots on goal by Rangana Timo that, however, become easy prey for the goalkeeper. Lombarde dominated the match in terms of ball possession, keeping the game in Perugia’s half of the field despite the Grifoncelle’s attempt to bring a high pressing. The first half ended 0-1 with Brescia missing three scoring chances by spending the ball on the back of the net and Perugia trying to turn the tide of the match with another Timo conclusion in the 44th minute that, however, ended up in the arms of goalkeeper Gilardi.

In the second half the scenario does not change, it is mainly the Brescian women who dominate the field and in the 58th minute they finally close the game with the doubling goal signed again by Magri.

POST RACE.

A difficult match but one that once again highlights the high level of the championship, which, however, saw a more determined and concrete Perugia take the field than the one of Sunday, March 7, presented in the away match in Vicenza. Beyond the result good performance of Elena Urso and the defense led by Ilenia Serluca. Also good was the performance of Bortolato, Benoist, De Monaco and Orsi, who were able to ward off danger in numerous attack attempts by the visiting team.

Elisabetta Tola commented on her and her teammates’ performance as follows, “We can say all in all that we can be satisfied because we still managed to express the best of ourselves. When you manage to do this you are always satisfied, then the result is a consequence of many factors and episodes. We are obviously sorry for the defeat but it will be a reason for us to do better in the next competitions. In this regard, let’s put this result aside and already think about Wednesday’s rematch against Roma.”

Even in the words of coach Luciano Mancini, there is evidence of the maturation of the team, which found a satisfactory test against a high-level opponent: “We unfortunately find ourselves having to comment again on a defeat, but honestly nothing can be blamed on the girls, who gave everything they could. Even today, Brescia showed that the Serie B championship is of a great level, and no matter how much determination and attention you put into it, it can be expected that you can lose the game. On the level of play and on the level of commitment it was a completely different match from Vicenza, so we cannot blame the team.”

Next commitment for the biancorosse on Wednesday, March 17 at 18:30 always at the Renato Curi antistadio for the recovery of the ninth day of the championship against Roma CF.

The Primavera girls, led by coach Francesco Micheli, also archived this weekend with a 4-2 defeat against Fiorentina in the match played at the “Giansanti” communal stadium in Collestrada (PG).
